Two liquid components that meet at the spray gun, react, expand and cure in place. Closed cell cures rigid and dense, at roughly R-6.5 per inch, and acts as an air and vapour barrier. Open cell cures soft and light, at roughly R-3.7 per inch, absorbs sound well and costs less per square foot. Because the climate runs hot and wet for most of the year. Heat and humidity push into the building continuously, attics reach 130 to 150 degrees in summer, and most homes have their ductwork sitting in that heat. Insulation and air sealing are the difference between an air conditioner that copes and one that runs flat out all afternoon.

Cured foam is inert plastic. The chemistry happens during application, which is why the crew sprays in supplied air respirators and the building stays clear until the re entry time we give you in writing. Once cured and covered as code requires, it is stable and gives off nothing.

The life of the building. It is bonded to the structure, does not settle, sag or degrade, and has no maintenance schedule. Fibreglass lasts indefinitely too if it stays dry and undisturbed, which in practice is what decides its real lifespan.

It depends on installed depth, total area, access, masking and whether old material has to come out first, which is why we inspect before we quote. Any contractor quoting a per square foot price over the phone is guessing, and the gap between the guess and the invoice tends to appear later. Our estimates are free, written and fixed.

We will not invent a percentage. It depends on your equipment, your ducts, your windows and how you run the house. What is reliable is that in this climate the attic and the envelope are where most of the cooling load comes from, so they are the highest leverage places to spend.

Foam wins wherever air sealing, moisture or shallow cavities are in play, which is most of a Houston building. We specialise in spray foam and no longer install fibreglass, so we will always be direct with you about whether foam is genuinely the right call for your project.

No. The inspection and the written estimate are free, and there is no pressure afterwards. We would rather you compare our written scope against other bids than sign on the day.

Most residential jobs are one day on site, plus a day if significant removal comes first. Commercial work is staged by bay or area so the building keeps operating, and the schedule is part of the written scope.

During spraying, yes, the building stays clear apart from the crew. We give you the re entry window in writing before the job starts. For removal only work, you can usually stay.

When it is wet, compacted, rodent damaged or contaminated, yes, because covering it seals the problem in. When it is clean, dry and simply thin, we say so and leave it, which is cheaper for you. See insulation removal.

The awkward details are the job. Rim joists, top plates, chases, bath fans and the attic hatch are where buildings actually leak, and they are itemised in the scope so you can hold us to them.

We carry insurance and will show you our certificate on request. Texas does not require a state-level license to install spray foam insulation, but we still follow standard business registration and job-site safety requirements on every project. Ask any contractor you are vetting the same question, since insurance is what actually protects you if something goes wrong.
